Welcome to GlacierClient.com

Amazon Glacier was launched in 2012 as a low-cost cloud archive storage service designed for infrequent access and long-term backup. Over the years, it served as a reliable solution for archiving large volumes of data at minimal cost.

However, Amazon has gradually shifted its focus towards Amazon S3, introducing new cold storage classes such as S3 Glacier, S3 Glacier Deep Archive, and S3 Intelligent-Tiering Archive. These modern storage tiers offer better integration with other AWS services, more flexible retrieval options, and improved performance.

No new features have been added to the legacy Amazon Glacier Vaults for years, and existing customers are encouraged to migrate their data to S3-based storage classes.

It is now recommended to move your data from traditional Glacier Vaults to newer S3-based storage classes, which offer greater flexibility, better integration, and improved access capabilities. AWS provides a dedicated solution to help with this migration: Data Transfer from Amazon S3 Glacier Vaults to Amazon S3.

If you still need access to the legacy Glacier API, you can use FastGlacier - a Windows client for managing data stored in Amazon Glacier Vaults.
